If you are a professional coach who wants to conduct real-world
coaching research, I offer a supportive partnership
as a mentor to help you plan, implement,
reflect on and learn from your research in
practice.
Our learning partnership can take place in
a variety of venues, based on your interests
and needs:
-
University
course work: At the School
of Management, University of Texas, Dallas, I teach Research
Practices for Coaches (EC306), an online synchronous class
that provides an introduction to the basic principles
of coaching and action learning. Graduate credit is available for
this course. I also offer "Using Case Study for Coaches",
through the university. http://utdallas.edu
-
Individual research mentoring:
In twice-monthly calls, I provide guidance and encouragement
on research projects from initiation through write-up. As your learning
partner, we will consider research methods, data-gathering
protocols, documentation and clarify the meaning
of the data you gather. Mentoring may also include helping you identify
further resources and networking with others in the
field of coaching research.
-
Group
research mentoring: I use a collaborative
action-learning approach to help small groups of coaching researchers
(maximum of 6) learn from their own and others research processes.
In twice-monthly meetings,
group members present the status and outcomes to date of research
in progress, get constructive group feedback
and engage in learning, reflection
and planning next steps.
Mentoring groups meet for 12 weeks via bridge-line.
Groups are initiated based on interest. Cohort groups can be arranged
on request.
